Wood, Linda Sue (Oldridge)

Linda Sue (Oldridge) Wood, 65, of Robins, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a 2-year battle with cancer. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Faith and Life Center, Marion, by Pastor Perry Fruhling. The family will greet friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Private family burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; children, Kevin (Amy) Wood of Robins and Denise (Ron) Jorgensen of Robins; grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia, Allison, Samuel and Gabriel; sister, Ricki (Jim) Schulte of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, Jerome (Donna) Wood of Robins, Don (Connie) Wood of Robins and Dick (Gina) Wood of Troy Mills; sister-in-law, Janet (Russell) Fisher of Coggon; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and her mother and father-in-law.

Linda was born Sept. 13, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Wayne and Nadine (Baty) Oldridge. She graduated from Troy Mills High School and married Michael Wood on May 4, 1968. Linda worked as a purchasing agent for Rockwell Collins for 20 years.

The family requests no flowers or plants be sent; instead, memorials may be directed to the family to be dispersed to organizations in Troy Mills.
