James Dennis Wolfe, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Celebration of life services will held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, with a reception immediately following. Matthew Burrier will be the officiant.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorena Nadine Martin.
Jimmy “Big Buff Daddy” Wolfe, born June 24, 1946, lived an extraordinary life and was cherished by many friends. He was an army veteran, baptized as Gnostic, ordained ULC minister, worked as a tutor at Ventura College, Calif.; a study skills specialist at Mount Mercy College; entrepreneur; and retired custodian from Lovely Lane UMC.
In his retirement he enjoyed working part-time at Godfather's Pizza and researching local ghost towns. While he will be greatly missed by his friends, his sense of humor will live on with them. His epitaph from Bugs Bunny is “Don't take life too seriously; You'll never get out alive.”
Memorials may be made to the HD Youth Center.
