Woito, Mabel C.
Mabel C. Woito, 104, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at the Denver Sunset Home Saturday, July 6, 2013. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Larry Stumme officiating. Visitation at the chapel after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Dixie Unangst of Denver and Molly George of Center Point; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton; one sister and two brothers.
Mabel was born Dec. 21, 1908, in Guttenberg, Iowa, to Charles and Emilie Scholz. She graduated from Teachers College and taught for a short time after. Mabel married Milton Woito in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 28, 1933. He died in 1966.
Mabel was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for 66 years. She was a member of PEO Chapter II and the Eastern Star. She loved to sing, garden and play cards.
She will be remembered as a wonderful mother.
