Charlotte L. Johnson was born July 10, 1933, in Iowa City, daughter of Merrill and Edna (Harding) Johnson. She graduated from City High School and, on Sept. 15, 1950, married Donald L. Wohlenberg in Iowa City. Though they spent some time out West, Iowa City has always been home. She worked for many years as a histology technician with MedLabs at the University of Iowa.
Charlotte had a beautiful voice and loved sharing it with others through songs or plays. She loved the outdoors, camping with Don and trips to the raptor center with grandchildren. Most of all, Charlotte cherished her family and time with them, especially Friday evening Yahtzee games with her sisters.
Her family includes her husband, Donald; daughter, Becky Pearson (Kent) of North Liberty; sisters, Meryl Ann “Oney” Johnson of Coralville and Betty Jo Johnson of Iowa City; grandchildren, Melissa Isbell (Gabe) and Shannon Cutsforth (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Forest, Willow and Asher Isbell; and nephew, Michael Rafferty.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and son, David in 2012.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City is caring for Charlotte's family and her services.
