Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the chapel after 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two sons, Timothy and Gerald; two daughters, Dorothy and Kathleen; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmo and Norman; and four sisters Evangeline, Norma, Selma and Evelyn.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene; two daughters, Christina and Marie; and three brothers, Arland, Kermit and Ike.
Harmon was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Dunn County, N.D., to Iver and Esther Wendt Wisted. He lived a quiet life of love and friendship. He never strayed from the values he was taught on the family's North Dakota farm. His philosophy was to treat everyone as you would like to be treated. He had a humble belief in God, a veteran's love of country, and above all else, he loved his family and friends.
Harmon retired from Rockwell Collins in 1989 after 27 years as an electrical engineer. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. He was a lifetime member and supporter of the American Legion, a golfer, who like all golfers, sought personal excellence in his game, and as a bowler, whose league career spanned 50 years. He enjoyed playing cards, a good game of cribbage, and a cocktail with family and friends. He married Sharon K. Klimesh in Cedar Rapids on May 30, 1986.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. If you knew him, tell his story well, that we may all remember the warmth, love, and laughter of his life.
Military honors will be provided by Hanford American Legion Post 5.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
