Catherine T. Wise
Catherine T. Wise (nee Taylor), 62, of Crystal Lake, Ill., formerly of Cedar Rapids and Fort Madison, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, in Woodstock, Ill. The memorial visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Illinois Route 176), Crystal Lake. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. William Sykes Wise II of Crystal Lake; her children, William Sykes Wise III (Jillian) of Rochelle, Ill., and Drea Wise of Mundelein, Ill.; her mother, Dorothy Taylor of Cedar Rapids; her brothers, Tom (Debbie) Taylor of Portland, Ore., Mark (Barb) Taylor of Sioux City, Kevin Taylor of Cedar Rapids, Dan (Carla) Taylor of Cedar Rapids and Bob (Dana) Taylor of Urbandale; and her grandchildren, William Sykes Wise IV and Daphne Rose Wise, both of Rochelle; and her sister, Marie (Jim) Tarr of Columbia, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Taylor; and her sister, Carol Taylor.
Born March 10, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Wavra) Taylor. On June 12, 1971, she was united in marriage to Dr. William Sykes Wise II at All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She received her B.A. degree in music education from Bradley University and was employed as a claims processor for Lincoln Financial.
She was a flute player in the Crystal Lake Community Band and was a former member of Fort Madison Community Band.
