Winthrop “Win” James Gregor, 67, of Shueyville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in his home. A visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, , at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, Cedar Rapids. A private family burial will take place at Sulek Cemetery.
Win was born on March 3, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Marvin Joseph and Mary Lucille (McNamara) Gregor. He was a graduate of College Community Schools. Win married Rhonda Filling on April 1, 1978, at St. Patrick’s Church in Fairfax, Iowa. He was a hard worker, dedicated to farming and small family businesses. He advanced his education by obtaining his apprenticeship in pipe fitting and his real-estate license. Later in his professional life he supported his family, and provided humor to his coworkers, while working at a local distribution center.
In his free time, Win enjoyed woodworking, lawn care, fishing, and improving his home and acreage. In his youth, he took pride in competing in 4H. Win was dedicated to strengthening his family and supporting his community.
Win is survived by his wife, Rhonda; his daughters, Katie (Nicole) Cabreriza and Kendra (Sam) Gregor-Stewart; his sisters, Pam (Dick) Lee and Aimee (Rusty) Fritz; his brother, Tim (Denise) Gregor; and his nephew, Lucas; and nieces, Jennifer “JJ” and Hannah.
Win was preceded in death by his parents.
