Winders, Michael G.
Michael G. Winders, 60, of rural Winthrop, died Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2010, at Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids following a long illness. Graveside memorial services will be at a later date. Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
Mike was born July 11, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Willis W. and Clare (Andres) Winders. He was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was married to Virginia Kirklin in 1968; the couple later divorced. He was employed with Link Belt Co. and Goss Manufacturing
Surviving are two sons, Michael and Theodore Winders, both of Cedar Rapids.
