Winchip, Clara Mae (Crow)
Clara Mae (Crow) Winchip went to be with our Lord on Sept. 10, 2011, at St. Anthony Nursing Home, Crown Point, Ind. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa, with the Rev. Carla Burge officiating.
Clara Mae Crow was born Feb. 16, 1920, the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Crawford) Crow. Clara Mae grew up in Anamosa. She married Mitchell Winchip in 1945 and later divorced. She worked at the Anamosa hospital until retirement. In 1998, she moved to Cedar Lake, Ind.
She is survived by daughter, Wanda (Rodney) Ashcraft, Cedar Lake, Ind.; son, Lavern (Garnet) Winchip, Cedar Rapids; grandson, Jefferson (Michelle) Ashcraft, Indianapolis; granddaughter, India Moore, Cedar Rapids; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford and Donald Crow; and one sister, Maxine Crow.
Memorials may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ, Anamosa.
