Wilson, Richard V.
Richard V. Wilson, 80, of Anamosa, formerly of Waubeek, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City with military rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery.
Survivors include six children, Diane (Steve) Hartwig of Marion, Richard Wilson Jr. of Anamosa, Cindy (Brent) Kenney of Flowery Branch, Ga., David (Rhonda) Wilson of Central City, Lynn (John) Yundt of Vinton and Rodney (Terri) Wilson of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dean Wilson of Manchester and Don Wilson of Coggon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; and 11 siblings, Andy, Steve, Louise Franks, Irene Wiltsey, Betty Moorman, Ed, Corabelle Berg, Clair, Blaine, Larry and Carol Peyton.
Richard was born July 4, 1932, the son of Ed and Cassie (Greene) Wilson in Masonville. On Nov. 5, 1954, he married Doris Johnson. She died March 13, 2006. Richard served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 in Korea. He worked at Harnishfager for 24 years, retiring in 1987.
