Wilson, Ethel E.
Ethel E. Wilson, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Dr. Damian M. Epps officiating. Interment will be held in Lilly View Cemetery in the Bahamas. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Ethel Eliza Lockhart was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Duncan Town Ragged Island, Bahamas, to George Reginald and Myra (Wilson) Lockhart. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include six daughters, Diantha (Johnny) Powell, Frances (Freddie) Northern, Elsie Wilson, Gertrude Fitzpatrick, Sharel Wilson and Troy Lewis; three sons, Theodore Wilson, Horace Wilson and Tristan Munnings; eight sisters, Helen Saunders, Enid Lockhart, Verlina Maycock, Genesta Lockhart, Veronica Pintard, Florinda (Granville) Hepburn, Sheila Curling and Katie Lockhart; 10 grandchildren, Ashton and Cody Northern, Brittney, Bethany and Blaire Wilson, Cybryan and Simeon Moa, Calista, Daijah Hayes and Patrick Lewis; plus two brothers, Tony and Perry Lockhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Preston, Terry, Holly and Percy Lockhart; and one sister, Wilhelmina Nesbitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy and cancer research are preferred.
