Wilma Marie Sedivy, 91, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo after a long illness. Visitation for Wilma will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.
Wilma was born June 8, 1922, on the family farm near North Liberty, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Modracek) Andrlik. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" F. Sedivy on April 24, 1940. Wilma and William farmed in the Walford area for over 40 years.
Wilma was a wonderful sister, cook, baker and she had the God-given gift to make anything beautiful.
She loved her animals that were her children, dancing, country music and shopping.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her sisters, Leone Popenhagen of Boone and Rose Mary Rosdail of Marengo; three nieces, Debbie Knapp of North English, Dawn Newman (fiance Steve Melson) of Cedar Rapids and Cindy (Karl) Hunter of Boone.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, William, who died in November 1993.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice, the staff at Rose Haven for their wonderful care for Wilma and Brosh Chapel.
