Willis "Bill" Youells, 90, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, died there Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. Per Bill's wishes there will be no services.
Bill is survived by daughters, Tara Youells and Randi Youells, both of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Chris Carman (Tara's husband); grandson, Ryan Carman; granddaughter, Lia Carman and grandson-in-law, Elsworth Rockefeller; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Roger Anderberg; and nephews, Rod and Rick Anderberg and their families.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Val; daughter, Shaun; his
parents; son-in-law, Frank Gerry (Randi's husband); and his beloved canine companion, Lucy.
To the loving and fun staff at the Hiawatha Care Center: We will always be grateful for everything you did for Bill and our family. You will always occupy a special place in our hearts.
We would like to think that when Bill entered those "pearly gates" he was wearing his Boston Red Sox cap, holding a Sam Adams in one hand and a New York Times in the other, with a pen tucked in his pocket for the crossword puzzle. We will miss him.
