Willis "Willie" R. Parks, 77, of Atkins, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a short illness. Per his request, there will be no formal services. Inurnment will take place at Kingswood Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio, at a later date. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is serving the family.
Survivors include his children, Willis "Bobby" (Tammy) Parks Jr. and Roberta (Eddie) Roth; a nephew, Rick (Joddi) Stoneburner; a niece, Debby Sivak; as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; three brothers; and a sister, Martha Lawrence.
Willie was born June 11, 1938, in Marion, Ohio, the son of Lloyd H. and Vynila M. (Bilger) Parks. He married Carol J. Richardson. He worked as an insurance adjuster for many years. While living in Atkins, he loved riding his golf cart around looking at wildlife on the nature trails.
