Williams, Peggy J.
Peggy J. Williams, 79, of Wyoming, Iowa, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at the Monticello Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Monticello. A celebration of her life service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, with the Rev. Christopher Doyle officiating. Burial will be in North Madison Pioneer Cemetery in Center Junction. Friends may call from 4 to
8 p.m. Friday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming.
Peggy J. Vargason was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Wyoming, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Grace (Millsap) Vargason.
She graduated from Wyoming High School. She married Gale Williams on Nov. 3, 1946, and later divorced. She worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa and was a cook at Duck Blind in Onslow. She also worked at the library in Center Junction. Peggy enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping.
She is survived by six children, Pam Carradus of Longworthy, Gail Axtell of Loveland, Colo., Randy (Michael) Williams of Center Junction, Steve (Lisa) Williams of Eldridge, Ron (Deb) Williams of Wyoming and Lynn (Mary Fritz) Williams of Center Junction; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Maycel (Wesley) Finkle of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons-in-law and a stepgreat-grandson.
Memorials are preferred.
