Williams, Marie Odette 'Odie'
Marie Odette “Odie” Williams, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in the English Valley Care Center. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include two brothers, Ellis Frederick of North English and James Frederick of Springville; and a sister, Norma Livezey of Petersburg, Ill.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; her brothers, Edwin and his wife, Betty, Gale, Clarence Jr., Donald and Arnold; her sister, Darlene and her husband, Larry Zenishek; sister-in-law, Pat Frederick; and brother-in-law, Bill Livezey.
Marie was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Miller) Frederick. She married Lloyd G. Williams on Aug. 23, 1952. For 35 years, Odie worked for WR Grace & Company, Cryovac division. She enjoyed golfing, knitting, bowling and spending time with her family. Though Odie never had any children, she enjoyed her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to issue a special thank you to Hospice and the English Valley Care Center.
A memorial fund has been established.
