Williams Jr., Talbot A. 'T.A.'
Talbot A. “T.A.” Williams Jr., 91, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at his residence.
Talbot was born April 22, 1921, in Bay City, Texas, the son of Talbot A. Williams Sr. and Josephine (McCollough) Williams. He graduated from Bay City High School in 1938 and later from the University of Texas. He served in the United States Army during World War II. TA married Marie Reinhardt on Oct. 3, 1942, in Hope, Ark. The couple lived many places throughout their lives, including Hope and El Dorado, Ark., Luling, La., Muscatine, Iowa, New Braunfels, Texas and Iowa City. He had worked for Monsanto for many years as a chemical engineer before his retirement in 1976.
His family includes a son, Bill (Janet) Williams of Solon; daughter-in-law, Linda Williams of Duluth, Ga.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Williams of Minneapolis, Paul (Tracy) Williams of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., Laura (Jef) Pabst of Duluth, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Brady and Chelsea Williams and Ryan Pabst.
T.A. was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; and their son, Ken Williams.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
