William Frederick Thompson, 67, of Cedar Rapids, passed away July 12, 2015, after a six-year battle with multiple myeloma. A Service of Remembrance will be held to celebrate Bill's life at Roland Funeral Home, 204 E. Fifth St., in Atlantic, Iowa, on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. The family will meet and greet friends on Friday, July 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. and from 9 to 11 on Saturday morning. A luncheon will be served at the Lewis Community Center, 400 W. Main St., Lewis, Iowa, following graveside services at Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis.
The family encourages memorials be given to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
Bill is survived by his sons, William John Thompson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Michael Victor Thompson of Milton, Fla.; significant other, Cindy Edge of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Betty and Dula Thompson of Lewis, Iowa; his sister, Lanette (Rick) Crone of Cedar Rapids; and his two brothers, Marvin (Melinda) of Oakland, Iowa, and Ken (Kathy) of Grand Island, Neb.
