William Tennis Jones, 74, of Emily, Minn., passed away peacefully in his home Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, after a short battle with cancer. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at St. Emily's Catholic Church with the Rev. Blake Rozier officiating. Internment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at a later date.
Will was born March 3, 1944, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Dean and Lucille Jones. He attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and completed a successful career with Swiss Valley Farms in Cedar Rapids. After retiring from Swiss Valley Farms, Will joined his wife, Donna, in Emily, Minn., to help run their family vacation resort. Will was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Lakers Lions Club, the Seniors Club of Outing and This Man is You. Will was very active in supporting St. Emily's Church and served as hospitality minster, altar server during daily Mass and on the building committee which recently completed the parish's new narthex addition. Will was very well known for the smiles he brought to those he encountered during meat raffle runs for his son's business Emily Meats.
Will is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna (Randak); his son, Tracy (Fawn) Jones; daughter, Karen (Ed) Martin and Laurie (Steve) Salters; and his grandchildren, Kale, Amanda, Cody and Lily.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Emily Catholic Church in Emily, Minn., in Will's name.
