WILLIAM SMITH Cedar Rapids William F. Smith, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died naturally March 26, 2015. A memorial gathering will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Military honors will be provided by the Marine Corps League at 11 a.m. William F. Smith was born Sept. 29, 1949, to his parents, Norman F. and Minnie Mae (Hesse) Smith. He served six years in the United States Marine Corps, was employed for 33 years with the city of Cedar Rapids and had a lifetime dedication to his family and friends. William is survived by his children, Billy Joe Smith of Cedar Falls, Mai Lien Smith and Christopher Smith, both of Cedar Rapids; one stepson, Nguyen Kim Hung of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Linda (Jim) Lisk of Vinton, Russell (Sharon) Smith of Hiawatha and David (Linda) Smith of Belle Plaine.
