WILLIAM FRANK SMEJKAL

William Frank Smejkal, 83, of Versailles, Ky., husband of Patricia Reese Smejkal, passed away Aug. 5, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on May 30, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After serving as an active duty member of the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958, he continued his service in the Naval Reserves. Bill retired from Link Belt in 1991, after a successful 26-year career. In retirement, he especially enjoyed golfing and family vacations at the lake and beach. He was a member of Moss Hill Country Club.
In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Ted (Jodi) Smejkal of Lexington, Ky.; and a daughter, Jeanne (Jeffrey) Dennis of Nicholasville, Ky., and their son, Caleb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mildred Smejkal.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m., both at Milward-Southland in Lexington. Private burial at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
