William L. Shukers Sr., 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
Survivors include two sons, William (Rebecca) Jr. and Daniel (Mary); and a daughter, Roberta Douglas. He is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bill was born on April 30, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leon and Patricia Womochil Shukers. He married Barbara J. Ramey on June 4, 1964, in Marengo. Barbara passed away in 1999. Bill was a machinist at FMC for many years and later retired from Universal Engineering.
Bill was an avid bowler and took great pride when he bowled a perfect game. He enjoyed watching old movies and especially the time spent with his family. Bill was a good-hearted and wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
