William 'Ron' Wonick Sr.

WILLIAM "RON" WONICK SR. Iowa City William Ronald "Ron" Wonick Sr., 77, of Jerome, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in Boise, Idaho. He was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of William Wonick and Goldie Normberg Wonick. Ron was raised in Iowa City and attended school there. In the early 1970s, Moore's Business Forms brought Ron to Idaho, where he worked until retiring in 2000. While working at Moore's, he met Sandy Jones and they were married Nov. 17. They made their home in Jerome and continued working at Moore's. Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was especially talented at knife making and was a master knife maker. He loved telling stories and spending time at Magic Reservoir. Ron is survived by his wife, Sandy Wonick; his children, Ronnie, Sherri and Teri; six grand-children; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Jack; his sisters, Vicki and Judy; stepchildren, James and Tracie; four step-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. In accordance with Ron's wishes, no formal services will be held.
