William Rodger Woodburn, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021. As per the family's wishes, private Celebration
of Life services will be held. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.
William (Bill) was born March 1, 1943, in Moline, Ill., the son of Rodger and Elizabeth (Bessie) Woodburn. He graduated from Riverdale High School in Port Byron, Ill., and served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bill was united in marriage to Lana Lee Hartz on July 7, 1963. They had four children. They later divorced. Bill spent his adult life working in the restaurant industry, most recently Willy Woodburns Café which he co-owned with his longtime partner, Linda Pochabradsky.
Bill is survived by his children, Jeff (Dawn) Woodburn of Marion, Tim (Kristina) Woodburn of Rochester, Minn., Pat (Kim) Woodburn of North Liberty and Amy (Jay) Sauser of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Lindsey (Thomas) Oakdale, Minn., Emily, Franklin, Tenn., Mackenzie (David), West Liberty, Iowa, Kristin, Marion, Iowa, Madison, North Liberty, Iowa, Taylor (Kaleb), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tanner, St. Paul, Minn., Jacob, Marion, Iowa, and Parker, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five great-grandchildren, Lucia and Luca, West Liberty, Iowa, Rowin and Maren, Oakdale, Minn., and Malcolm, Cedar Rapids; and brothers, Robert (Peggy) Woodburn, Sparta, Wis., and Bruce (Judy) Woodburn, Mich.
He was preceded in death by Linda and his parents.
