William "Bill" Walter Plate, 55, of Goose Creek, S.C., passed away April 12, 2016. Visitation will be at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, on Wednesday, April 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at the funeral home. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Inland Cemetery, Bennett.

Bill was born Sept. 27, 1960, to Henry and Joanne Plate in Bennett, Iowa. He attended school in Bennett and Tipton. Bill was married to Priscilla Johnson on Jan. 21, 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he was a jet mechanic. Bill also was employed as a truck mechanic and most recently, an assembler at Boeing.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Henry Fred Plate; and stepsister, Becky Berry.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla, and daughter, Rachel, both of Goose Creek; his mother and stepfather, Joanne and Wendell Beckley, and brother, Dan (Heather) Plate, all of Tipton; stepsister, Debbie (Charles) Lane of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.
