William A. Nodurft, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Bickford Cottage in Marion. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ritva Williams will officiate.
Burial with military rites: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his daughter, Crystal Nodurft of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Howard (Joann) of Marion; many nieces and
nephews; his cat, Buddy; and his granddog, Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; and brothers and sisters, Harold, Robert, Dale, Lawrence, Helen, Marian, Irma, Kenneth and Wayne.
Bill was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Strawberry Point, the son of William C. and Anna Schmidt Nodurft. He married Emma Jean Nollsch on June 12, 1948, in Evanston, Ill. Jean passed away in 2003.
Bill worked at Borden's Ice Cream as a driver and retired from there after more than 27 years of service. Bill was a faithful member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the Army during World War II and had the privilege of going on the Honor Flight to Wash-ington, D.C., in 2013.
He did volunteer work for several organizations, including his church and the Linn Community Food Bank.
Bill enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes, and baking his renowned cookies.
He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to Camp Courageous or Camp EWALU.
