William James McGrew, 89, died Aug. 29, 2016. His body was cremated, with ashes spread on his Vale, Ariz., acreage.
Bill was born in Linn County, Iowa. He attended country school and Springville High School before entering the Navy in 1946. He worked at Collins Radio for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruth (Pollock) McGrew; and a brother, David of Plano, Texas, who died April 27, 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila; a son, John of Ontario, Calif., who cared for him; and a sister, Bonnie (McGrew) Quaas of Council Bluffs.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
