William "Bill" Harrison Kay, 92, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Memorial services will be at a later date at Squaw Creek Baptist Church, Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Rita; three sons, Bill, Tom and Doug; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bob; and sister, Pat.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard.
Bill was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of William H. and Ethel (Parcels) Kay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Corps, having served during World War II. Bill married Rita Berglund on Sept. 25, 1943, in Jacksonville, Fla. He had a long career in insurance management.
Bill enjoyed flying, woodworking and singing and playing music at retirement homes. He was a member of Squaw Creek Baptist Church in Marion.
