William Harold Wehrle, 84, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at UI Healthcare Downtown Campus. A visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2012 400th Street SW, Oxford, IA 52322 with a vigil at 4 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Cosgrove. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oxford American Legion Post #537.
William was born on August 20, 1940, in Iowa City, IA, the son of Harold and Wilma (Grabin) Wehrle. He graduated from Cosgrove High School in 1958. Bill was united in marriage to Kathryn Murphy on September 16, 1967, in Parnell, IA. He worked for LL Pelling, various Seed and Grain Sales companies, and farmed throughout his life. Bill loved to fish, mushroom hunt and deer hunt. He enjoyed drinking beer and playing cards, especially euchre, and poker. Bill was always helping others out and spending time with his family and friends. He loved to maintain his property and mow grass.
William is survived by his wife, Kathy; Three children, Rebecca (Marc) Mohn of Lisbon, IA, James (Kimberly) Wehrle of Oxford, IA, and Michael Wehrle of Tiffin, IA; four grandchildren, Madison Bowling, of Lisbon, IA, Kassidy Wehrle (Christian Glandorf) of Williamsburg, IA, Amiah Wehrle, of Nichols, IA and Brenner Wehrle of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, River and Archie Wehrle; and three sisters; and many extended family.
