William H. “Bill” Kurth, 93, of Marengo, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo, with Father David Wilkening officiating. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the church. Burial: St. Patricks St. Pauls Cemetery, Watkins, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to Essence of Life Hospice or the Marengo American Legion Post 76. Kloster Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bill is survived by his wife, Doris; a son, David (Judy) Kurth of Des Moines; a daughter, Diane (John) Boyles of Fairfield; and nine grandchildren, Jason (Lindsay) Kurth of Des Moines, Joseph (Jada) Kurth of Sioux City, Sarah (David) Boyles-Jensen of Cedar Rapids, James (Marianne) Kurth of Marion, Mark (Bethany) Boyles of Keosauqua, Deborah (Steven) Welter of Montgomery, Ill, Elisabeth (Nick) Parilo of Alburnett, John Boyles of Cedar Rapids and Jenny (Joe) Patterson of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Verna W. Kurth and Florence Kanke Kurth; a son, Jimmy in infancy; and his siblings.
