WILLIAM E. "BUD" ELSNER
North Liberty
William E. "Bud" Elsner, 51, of North Liberty, passed away on Christmas morning at his home.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon Wednesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville.
Burial will follow in Ridgewood
Cemetery in North Liberty. Instead of flowers and plants, the family kindly requests that memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society.
Born Jan. 20, 1970, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Karen (Nelson) Elsner, Bud grew up in DeWitt and graduated from DeWitt High School in 1988.
He married Angela Ellwood Aug. 30, 2003, in Solon.
Bud could fix and repair anything, always available to lend a hand to those that needed something fixed – vehicles included.
He was the rescuer of DIY projects gone bad. Bud opened his own business, W.E. Repair Plus, in 2019.
Bud is survived by his wife, Angie; son, Cameron Elsner of Marengo; daughter, Cora Elsner of Coralville; his father and stepmother, Leonard Elsner (Linda) of Calamus, Iowa; and sisters and brothers, Kathy Westerhof of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Jessica Elsner of Davenport, Emily Elsner of Dubuque, Charity Griebel of Calamus, Christian Bousselot of Oxford Junction and Camdon Bousselot of Calamus.
His mother, Karen, preceded him in death.
