William "Bill" L. Cole, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, followed by a time of gathering until 7 p.m.
William is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Cedar Rapids; children, Willy (Kelly) Cole of Dundee, Darcie Luxa of Cedar Rapids, Mark Henderson of St. Charles, Mo., Terri Parris of Iowa City and Dan (Cyndi) Henderson of Marion; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Pat Rizzio, Gary Knoke, and Gary, Denny and Gloria Trierweiler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ken Cole; son, Ronnie Cole; son-in-law, Timothy Parris; and great-grandson, Kenneth R. Regennitter.
William was born July 2, 1934, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the son of Lawrence Trierweiler and Stella Appleby. In April 1986, he was united in marriage to Rosalie Taylor in Las Vegas, Nev. Bill was a longtime employee at the Milwaukee Railroad and later was employed by the city of Iowa City.
He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing and hunting. The family spent a great deal of time camping and fishing, which created fond memories for all of them.
Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
