WILLIAM "BILL" ROBERT ZAHN
Cedar Rapids
William "Bill" Robert Zahn, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Oct. 12, 2017, following a car accident near Mount Vernon.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Zahn; his mother, Virginia Mabel (Goodell) VanDyke; his brother, David VanDyke; and his sister, Mable Franks.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jeanette (Bascom) Zahn; and his four daughters; Cindy (Bob) Sorenson, Tracy (Rod) Blackwell, Stacy (Scott) Taylor and Kasie (Tim) DeCamp. He is also survived by his stepmother, Doris Zahn; one brother and three sisters; as well as 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Bill was a retired auto mechanic and delivered the Cedar Rapids Gazette for nearly 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and Korean War. Bill was a generous and kind hearted-person who touched many lives. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Bill chose to be cremated. A private family service was held Oct. 13 at Stewart-Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services. A celebration of life will be held in his honor; please contact Tracy at (319) 202-0876 for location and time.
