Lone Tree
William “Bill” Schlapkohl, 92, of Lone Tree, passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lone Tree. Following the Mass, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church basement. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Riverside with full military rites provided by the Riverside VFW Post 6414 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue in memory of Bill. Bill will be deeply missed by his wife, Virginia of Lone Tree; his children, Jerry (Sue) Schlapkohl of Nichols, Kathy (Steve) Colbert of Riverside, Chris (Randy) Cole of Riverside, Susan (Larry) Schott of Riverside and Teresa Wyatt and friend, Jeff McDowell of Lone Tree; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Maxine Schlapkohl of Bella Vista, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Schlapkohl; sister, Helen Lenz; and nephew, Robert Lenz.
