Monticello
William "Bill" Kell Jr., 77, of Monticello, died on June 3, 2021, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. A memorial service will be held on June 7, 2021, at 1 p.m., with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m., at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in rural Monticello.
William Lee Kell Jr. was born on Aug. 31, 1943, to William and Clarice (Groth) Kell in Anamosa, Iowa. Following his high school graduation from Olin, he joined the Army Reserves, where he was honorably discharged in 1970. Bill was united in marriage to Sharon Reck on June 17, 1967. He worked at Iowa Manufacturing/Cedar Rapids Inc. for 45 years. His interests included fishing, woodworking, gardening and bird watching.
Left to cherish William's memory are his loving wife, Sharon; his children, Brenda (Tracy) Burge and Curtis Kell; grandchildren, Zachary, Spencer and Daniel Burge and Laura, Laina and Lennon Kell; and siblings, John Kell and Tamra Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Luka Kell.
A memorial fund has been established for Wayne Zion Lutheran Church or UnityPoint Cardiac Rehabilitation Center.
