WILLIAM "BILL" HENRY DIETSCH

William "Bill" Henry Dietsch, 72, died Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was on his way to Sunday Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at St. Joseph Church in Hills with Father Michael Spiekermeier officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph's Church or the American Diabetes Association.
Bill was born March 13, 1944, in Iowa City, the son of Clarence and Wilma Milder Dietsch. He was raised in Hills, moving to Iowa City in 1973. He was a graduate of Regina High School. Bill worked at UIHC for over 40 years. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his siblings, Anthony (Beth) Dietsch of Des Moines, Carol Dietsch of Davenport, Connie Dietsch of Muscatine and Anne (David) Hoke of Mount Vernon; five nieces and one nephew; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Regina Dietsch.
