Willenborg, Robert Leo
Robert Leo Willenborg, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in his home. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joan; his children, Robert J. Willenborg of Mount Vernon and Laura (Michael) Hardin of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, James Willenborg of Alta Loma, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two stepbrothers.
Robert was born Oct. 7, 1930, the son of Alfonce and Francis (Mann) Willenborg, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1950, he was united in marriage to Joan Hrabak in Cedar Rapids. Robert served with the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for Rockwell Collins, retiring after 35 years of service.
Robert was a member of the Isaac Walton League, C.R. Pistol Club and NRA. He also was a Hunter Safety instructor and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his computer.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Robert.
