Wilkinson, James Lewis
James Lewis Wilkinson, 54, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in Hampton.
Jim was born Feb. 25, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Lewis Minor and Mildred Ila (Vanderlinden) Wilkinson. He graduated in 1977, from Marion High School in Marion, Iowa. He was married on Sept. 26, 1998, to Diane Jones in Hampton. Jim worked as a machinist at Seabee Corp. and then started his own business, Midwest Machine & Tool in Hampton. He was a17 year member of the Hampton Fire Department and a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles, Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with his favorite dog, Mallie.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Wilkinson of Hampton; daughter, Jenna (Paul) Mulford of Iowa Falls; son, Josh Wilkinson of Ames; son, Josh Hunt of Winona, Minn.; son, Brady (Amanda) Hunt of Mason City; grandchildren, Carter, Landon, Sophia, Cameron, Cole, Aleiah, Brayden, Amiya and Owen; mother, Mildred Wilkinson; brothers, Bill (friend Judy) Wilkinson, John (Kathie) Wilkinson, Dick (Deb) Wilkinson and Glen (Jackie) Wilkinson all of Marion; special nephew, Michael (Sondra) Wilkinson of Cedar Rapids; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis; and a very dear friend and uncle, Buzz Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will take place at the Hampton Cemetery, at a later date. Pastor Corby Jo Johnson will be officiating.
