William Kenyon McCune, 86, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 16, 2015. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, at St. Clements of Rome Catholic Church, Sun City, Ariz. Burial will follow the service at the National Cemetery, Phoenix, Ariz.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sunde McCune; a daughters, Anne Valline (Todd) and Carrie Nebel (Steve); and a sister, Barbara.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; parents, Glenn and Beryl McCune; and siblings, Mary Jean, Patricia, Bob and Jim.
Bill was born in Fremont, Neb., on June 20, 1929. He was the fourth of six children. A graduate of Iowa State University, he married Barbara Sunde in New York in 1956. They raised three children in Cedar Rapids and have seven grandchildren. Bill was employed by Rockwell Collins for 30 years. After retiring, they moved to Sun City in 1992.
