Wilgenbusch, Paul Richard
Paul Richard Wilgenbusch, 50, of Masonville, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, following a brief illness. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester by the Rev. John R. Flaherty. Family will greet friends from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Rosary will be held at 2 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Manchester.
Paul was born Aug. 17, 1959, in Manchester, the son of Emil and Helen (Goedken) Wilgenbusch. Graduating from West Delaware High School in 1977, Paul was a successful farmer in the Masonville area his entire life. Paul was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester. He enjoyed playing cards, “dancing with Beth,” boating and being with friends and family. His dogs, “The Girls,” shared in his daily farming routine. Paul's love of farming was shared with everyone.
Paul is survived by his special friend, Beth Beswick-Todd, and her daughter, Mary Beth Todd, of Greeley; his mother, Helen Wilgenbusch of Edgewood; nine brothers and sisters, Pat Wilgenbusch of Masonville, Margaret (Gene) Palmersheim of Greeley, Leon Wilgenbusch of Manchester, Mark (Dee) Wilgenbusch of Charles Town, W.Va., Joyce (Dave) Hoover of Carol Stream, Ill., Gerald Wilgenbusch of Center Point, Charlie (Paula) Wilgenbusch of Ryan, Dave Wilgenbusch of Cedar Rapids and Judith Martin (Willard James) of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Emil Wilgenbusch, on May 22, 1989; and one sister-in-law, Vicki A., wife of Dave Wilgenbusch, on Sept. 2, 2001.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the “Paul Wilgenbusch Agricultural College Scholarship Fund” that will be established in Paul's honor.
