Wiese, Betty F.
Betty F. Wiese, 90, of Cedar Rapids, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 23, 2011, in her home. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private Graveside Services will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Jan (Al) Graham and Deb Benson (Jim); grandchildren, Doug (Lesley) Graham, Scott Graham, Mike Graham (Caley) and Teri Benson; and great-grandchildren, Miles, Emmy, Clayton and Joshua Graham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; eight siblings; and her beloved bird, Tweety.
Betty was born July 11, 1920, the daughter of William and Celia (Ryalls) Burger, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On June 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harold Wiese, in Iowa City, Iowa. He died in 1975. One of Betty's many jobs was working as a hostess for the downtown Bishops. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Betty loved playing the piano and organ, gardening, shopping and eating out.
