Whitley, Wesley 'Wes'
Preceding Wes in death were his parents, William and Lola “Howell” Whitley; his identical twin brother, Leslie Whitley; four brothers; an infant sister; and a granddaughter, Whitley Ann Wattleworth.
Wes was born June 29, 1927, in Claycomo, Mo. He was raised by his mother and stepfather Frank Maude. Wes was very patriotic, serving with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Wes was a member of the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge 112, and just received his 50-year pin. He retired from United Technologies-Carrier, Syracuse, N.Y., in a management position, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Wes served with the Mount Vernon City Council for seven years. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, serving in many different levels of Scouting. Wes was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon.
In lieu of flowers and green plants, memorials in Wes's honor may be donated to United Methodist Church and Mount Vernon Lisbon Volunteer Ambulance Fund.
