Wheatley, Stephanie Lea

Stephanie Lea Wheatley, 31, of the Cedar Rapids area, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at her home in Hiawatha. A visitation with the family meeting with friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. A private graveside service will be held at Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis.

She was born Oct. 16, 1980, in Burlington, the daughter of Steven and Sherry (Witte) Black. Stephanie married Scott Wheatley on May 13, 2000. They later divorced. She was a graduate of Coe College, with a degree in business. She had owned a diamond business and was also a Realtor; however, her main focus was raising her two sons.

Stephanie loved camping, riding with her father on his motorcycle, many other outdoor activities, and spending time at her grandparent's farm.

She is survived by her 4-year-old twin sons, Roman Scott and Spencer Lee; her mother, Sherry Black-Primmer and her husband, Ernie, of Cedar Rapids; her father, Steven Black of Cedar Rapids; and grandparents, Lemoyne and Marjorie Witte of Morning Sun and Devona Black Griffin of Columbus Junction.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Black.

A memorial fund has been established for her twin sons' college expenses.
