Whalen, Alfred Denver
Alfred Denver Whalen, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda (Campbell) Whalen of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Tima Melendez (Arturo) of Marion; and grandchildren, Arturo Jr., Tima, Carlos and Rubi Melendez.
Alfred was born June 13, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, son of Pyrcell and Tima Whalen. On June 12, 1962, he married Wanda Campbell in Preston, Minn. Alfred was in the United States Navy and the Air Force during the Korean War.
