Westfall, Lucy L.
Lucy L. Westfall, 87, of Hiawatha, died June 4, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. A memorial gathering and luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the Cedar Memorial Park Family Center and Library in Cedar Rapids.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Carnes and husband Dr. R. Scott of Hiawatha; and her granddaughter, Kara Carnes (Cody Benhart) of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Leslie.
Lucy LeClaire Westfall was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of William and Della Ruth Stroup. She was united in marriage to Leslie Dean Westfall on June 30, 1943, in Canton, Mo. Leslie preceded her in death in 1986. She was employed for many years in assembly at Rockwell Collins.
She enjoyed her home on the Mississippi River, her longtime close circle of friends and time spent with family.
She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in her name be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
