Westfall, Kevin Michael

Kevin Michael Westfall, 55, of Excelsior, Minn., formerly of Iowa City, passed away at home on June 11, 2013, following a long illness. A gathering for family and friends will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 24, at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. June 22 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins, Minn.

Kevin was born May 21, 1958, in Iowa City, to Norma and Raymond Westfall. He attended City High School and moved in 1977 to Minneapolis, where he worked for Ferguson Plumbing Supply in Plymouth for many years.

Kevin was a very proud and loving father. He loved the outdoors, sports and had a passion for music. Kevin loved to boat on Lake Minnetonka.

Kevin is survived by his mother and stepfather, Norma and Tom Abbott of Iowa City; his son, Dean Michael of Red Wing, Minn.; his brother, Craig (Tami) Westfall of Iowa City; his stepbrother, Todd Abbott of Cedar Rapids; his significant other, Cindy Uran of Excelsior, Minn.; nieces, Tiffany (David) Tafolla and Renee Westfall; nephew, Ian (Sami) Westfall; and grandnieces, Alyssa Westfall and Bailey Westfall.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dean; grandparents, Emil and Frances Reyhons and Florence Abbott; and his father.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
