Westen, Walter D.A.
Walter D.A. Westen, 92, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the Halcyon House, Washington, following a brief illness. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Washington, with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, Iowa.
Memorials have been established for the First Baptist Church, Halcyon House Good Samaritan Fund or Hospice of Washington County.

He is survived by four children, including daughter Barbara Ramsey and husband John of Washington, daughter Karen Hobbs and husband Tom of West Chester, daughter Judy West of Washington, and son Marty Westen and wife Joyce of Washington.
Walter is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
