Wesley D. Lockard, 62, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. The family will greet friends at the chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial donations in Wesley's name may be directed to the family.

Wesley Dean Lockard was born May 25, 1951, in Lincoln, Neb., to Valentine D. and Myrtle (Eldonborg) Lockard. After high school, he completed training to be a certified gunsmith. Wesley later owned and operated Lockard's Gunsmithing, until the mid 1980s. He was also very proud to be a Navy veteran.
On April 6, 1974, Wesley was united in marriage to Brenda VonDielingen in Lakewood, Colo. Brenda and Wesley were members of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Wesley loved to spend time with his family and to travel, especially to the Rocky Mountains. He also loved to play cards and spend time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Danelle Lockard Wroblewski of Brandon and Shanna Lockard of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Shalyse Lockard, Austin and Brooke Wroblewski and Drake Lockard; great-granddaughter, Addilyn Richter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Darlene Peet; and brothers, Weston and Valentine Lockard, Jr.
