Werner, Julia A.
Julia A. Werner, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at St. Luke's Living Center West. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 25, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor Keith Pitts of Valley View Baptist Church will officiate with private family burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughter Montyne (Rob) Kasper of Cedar Rapids; mother Polly Alnutt of Marion; a brother Keith Alnutt of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters Janett (Nick) Scott of Cedar Rapids, Janice (Scott) Byers of Cedar Rapids, and Joyce Clark of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and her grandchildren Julian Ampey, and Aidan Kasper.
Julia was preceded in death by her father Richard Strauss, two brothers, and stepfather Charles Alnutt.
Julia was born Jan. 6, 1949, in Del Rio, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Polly (Patton) Strauss. She was employed by Toyota Financial Services of Cedar Rapids for nine years in customer service. She was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church of Cedar Rapids, and enjoyed being with her family, fishing, knitting and gardening.
