Wenger, Ronald James
Ronald James Wenger, 68, of Elkport, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Apostolic Cemetery, rural Elgin. The Rev. Jerome Godson will officiate. All friends and family are welcome for food and fellowship at Johnson's Supper Club in Elkader following services. Arrangements are with Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Guttenberg.
He was born the son of Kenneth and Marybelle (Joslin) Wenger on Sept. 13, 1941, in West Union, Iowa. Ronald spent his early life growing up in the Elkader area. For many years Ronald worked as a welder. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are four children, Charlotte (Jim) Gudenkauf of Wyoming, Iowa, Kevin (Sherry) Wenger of Monticello, Kenny (Angie) Wenger of Anamosa and Jeanette Weeks of Monticello; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters, Carol (Larry) Adams of Cedar Rapids and Laurie Wenger of Elkader; one brother, Dave (Michelle) Wenger of Cedar Rapids; and one sister-in-law, Reva Sparks of Bullhead City, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jeannie Williams.
